Onion gives the broccoli a wonderful boost of flavor!
Cook the broccoli in boiling water (as directed on the package), but add the onion to the pot while cooking. When cooked, discard the onion, drain the brocolli, and add enough butter, salt, and pepper for all the flavors to pop. Simply delicious!
This cake is so easy – the whole family needs to make this together – so fun! It is wonderful warm from the oven, and served with your favorite ice cream and the fudgie sauce! It is also great as leftovers packed in the kids' lunches the next day!
Cake
Whisk all the above ingredients into a 9” pan. Make three depressions, into one depression pour 1/3 C. vegetable oil, into the second 1 Tbsp. vinegar, into the third 1 tsp. vanilla. Over all pour 1 C. cold water. Mix thoroughly with a fork making sure to include the edges. Mix until smooth. Bake at 350 for about 35 min. Serve warm with ice cream and fudgy sauce.
Fudgy Sauce
Stir all ingredients constantly in small pan on low heat until it thickens. Add vanilla. Stir in additional milk if it becomes too thick to drizzle. Serve immediately
This holiday salad is not only delicious but also beautiful to look at!
Combine all ingredients, except lettuce leaves, in a large bowl. Mix gently, but thoroughly. Chill. Serve on lettuce leaves and garnish with additional fruit.
